South Bergen Federal Credit Union was formed in 1934 by Garfield Teachers and was known as South Bergen Teachers Credit Union. The Credit Union then was opened to other education groups in the South Bergen area. In the years to come, the Credit Union opened it's field of membership to non-education groups and was known as South Bergen Federal Credit Union. Today, the Credit Union's field of memberhip includes 28 employee groups which the Credit Union services and their immediate families. South Bergen Federal Credit Union is NON-PROFIT and can offer financial services to our members at a much lower cost then banks do. All members savings are insured by the Federal Government for up to $100,000.00 per account.
