The Rutherford Postal District EFCU has a proud history of serving its members since its establishment on April 5, 1937. Today, our Credit Union serves roughly 475 members throughout the United States. Our assets exceed $8 million.

The Credit Union offers a variety of diversified services including Savings Accounts and Loan Products. Our Credit Union is currently a member of "Credit Union Affiliates of New Jersey."

Your Money is Safe With Us
All deposit accounts are insured up to $250,000.00. Your money is protected by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), which is similar to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the agency that insures banks and savings and loans. The NCUSIF is administered by, an independent government agency, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

Established by Congress and funded cooperatively and voluntarily by Credit Unions, the NCUA protects Credit Union shares exclusively. The NCUA is funded by Credit Union contributions, not tax dollars, and is backed by the full faith and credit of the Federal Government.

Can Anyone Join?
Unlike a bank, a Credit Union cannot offer its services to just anyone. You must share the common bond and be within its field of membership. Our field of membership consists of the following:

Employees of the Rutherford Postal District
Immediate family members eligibility is available to spouse, children, and grandchildren, even if not living in the same residence.

How Do I Join?
All it takes is a deposit of at least $5.00 in a Regular Savings account and a one-time $1.00 membership fee. A $5.00 minimum balance must be maintained in the Regular Savings Account to keep your membership in good standing.
